Twinkle
(for when You
wish upon a star)
by
Dahni
Legs
crossed astride the table
Kicked back in the chair
on the deck
Cool breeze against the
humidity
Eyes pan the form of
treetops
Last remaining skimming
light
Eyes upward searching
Eyes darting back and
forth
Light ladies dancing in
night sky
Choreographic splendor
Each a part of the whole
Each a design
Each a meaning
Each a story
Each unique
Each a name
I only know Arcturus
timekeeper
I only know Polaris
sextant
And remember Twinkle from
my nursery
And I wish I knew the
names
Each a mystery like the
absence of the dance in the north
Twinkle carries me back
and away and on and up
And my feet walk the lit
way of moonbeams
Breathing deeply this cool
breeze
My lungs fill with other
breath
Searching as
I search the heavens
To find and name one
Caught away in the moment
Never knowing
Was it eye or the heart
seeing
But here we are
Here and There
Stars rising inside us
each
To join the dance
Love smiles
In the stars called
Twinkle
