cast off to
the thrown of self into myriad motion
the thing of things
but still not
cast off to music 'til aching muscles and fingers cry release
stumble across the ebb and irony
strength of ebony flows out
but ivory teethed memory will not let go
in all the cast off to inspiration perspiration
still the stronger remaining
cast off from music
but still not
cast off to speaking
idol conversation
idle converse
idyll conversion
definition absolution
undefined unspoken remaining
cast off from all enabled verbal
but still not
cast off to art
explosion fusion of color and texture
find to lose self in the formation
something opiating intoxicating of dulling driving
red white poppies to still the noise heal the pain
cast off mastered painted dreams
but still not
cast off to reasoned flight
hold the head aloft
make servant of the heart
beaten screaming broken
but when crush of blow ceases
emptied of its power
still it crawls out in same direction
cast off from teeming touching thought
but still not
cast off to the power of prose poised poetry
grasp the elusive butterflied image
when within the hand the metaphor float
becomes the morphed sting
cast off from poem of perfect pitch
all images between and fore and aft
but still not
cast off to gratified embrace
the every joy of life
all contained within the journey
of the 'miz and the mirth
save remaining one
cast off the every touch of all
but still not
cast off to the read
of worded self and others many
where frozen in time
the ever present moment
but lingering lying melting all
remains the one
cast off from sum of every read
but still not
cast off to write
the every imagined fetch
to outdistance and hold the memory
elsewhere than the present written words
contained in endless pages
save one
cast off from the black and white and right of write
but still not
cast off to enjoin
these all and the infinite more
all forced at random
to never not the ceasing
as if the intensity of them all
would capture and hold
deepening the resolve
but still not
cast off the boat
to traverse the waters
now becoming tears
reminded joys and sorrows
cast off the line
to fish for how
to eat a lifetime of life
and caught it
but still not
cast off the net to draw it in
the all, the cannot be contained
large the surface tension broken
larger still remaining beneath, the life of its tail
many lifetimes more than enough
but still not
cast off to cease to try
the thrown of self into myriad motion
the things of things
for remains the one that will not leave go
cast off from to
for still not
cast off no more for nothing casts off from me
the sound of color * the whisper of touch * the taste of perfume
the face occupied in every attempt to distract to remove
the breath and breathing of your name
