All electric and comfortable electric trains are the common mode of travel in Japan. After purchasing your ticket or while waiting for your train, these little covered and air-conditioned stops are found at most stations. Anyone can use these, but the elderly, pregnant women, women with small children or anyone with some infirmity are given preference. There are even designated places for these people on the trains as well. Anyway, these stops are a nice way to cool off from the heat and humidity while waiting for your train.
