   With very few exceptions, each of us have what we refer to as our 'best side.' I take several shots to find this side for each subject. Certain cameras (as the one I use), are closely in tune to the way our eyes actually see. When we determine what we will focus on, everything else around the subject of focus will naturally be blurred. By not centering the subject inside the frame, the picture becomes more interesting and our mind's eye will actually fill in what is missing, as the very crown of the head of the subject in this picture. There are times when it is desirable to set up or stage a shot. Hairstyling, makeup, clothing, jewelry, background, lighting, and modeling or posing are just a few of the many elements used to obtain a desired effect. Editing, changing, altering and enhancing a shot in post production may also be used and is greatly magnified and simplified with digital photography. But perhaps my favorite and often the best impression of a subject is to capture them naturally while the subject as above, is unaware of the picture being taken at the moment. She did however know, I was taking these and has allowed me to present this here as an example.
