Talons and Feathers

by Dahni

Soaring high above the tip of the top
streamlined in feathers
eyes poised to mark a speck of movement
aerodynamic in hovering
waiting looking
plunging headfirst
sudden reversal turning just at surface tension
angle of attack
talons stretched out
dip slightly
seize
recover in flight
return after devouring
soaring high above the tip of top
repeat again and again
beauty - ferocity
science and art
such is life.
